Dreambox and weak signals?

Hi, I haven’t got a dreambox yet

I Love chasing live feeds and I believe the Dreambox hasn’t got
the auto-SR capability like the nokia’s of old……..YET?

I was also wondering in the Dreamboxes ability to receive weak
signals. I have a UEC-720 for fox, and for playing around with I
have a Humax-5400z and a Nokia-9600. I have found the Humax
handles weaker signals much better than the Nokia. Could a
dreambox owner please enlighten me with there opinion on how
it handles weak signals in comparison.

Thank you very much.

Pam.

That's very simple to answer Pamela.
The Dreambox tuner, although not capable to autosearch, is VERY sensitive.
To be able to scan a satellite you can either have a satellite database file in use (satellite.xml) or do manual scan transponder by transponder.

For the pssionate DXer the following solution is the ultimate:

Enter all possible satellite / transponder combinations into the satellite.xml database and the Dreambox will even find the weakest feeds which come and go.....

That's how I do it and it works well!
