Signal problem when switching

Hi,

I have a DB 7000 S with 80 cm dish, 2 separate lnbs for Hotbird and Astra. From almost the begining I have a strange problem, when I switch from a Hotbird channel to an Astar channel, it s impossible to go back to Hotbird channel. I have hte message no signal found and the signal is lost even if I try to scan transponders or anything else....so I have to whether reboot or more easiliy touch a little bit the signal cable where it s plugged in the DB to recover the signal. But I m fed with getting up each time to touch the cable when switching.
Anyone with an idea?

Re: Signal problem when switching

I have the same problem but it is intermittent.

I have a 3 LNB setup with a 7020S and the problem does not seem to favor any particular satellite. I also have 2 other receivers (500S) which display the same problem.

It happens usually when it is raining but may happen when it is not that wet.

I think it may be the Tone that DESCQ uses to command the switch (in my case mounted to the dish pole) to select a LNB but it is just a guess. Maybe bad ground connection or something like that.

My next step is to verify all the connections one by one and see if it turns anything up.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for this problem?

Thanks, FCS

Re: Signal problem when switching

had the exact same problem as you both described; fixed it by replacing my diseqc 2.0 switch (that was 1.0 & 1.1 "compatible") by a true diseqc 1.0 switch ; all problems gone
