I just got a DM 7000
Very good toy :-)

After playing a few days I have installed a Maxtor Diamond Plus 9 harddrive (160 BG)

It all works fine, the drive only spins when You go in record (clever)
Mut here comes the problem now and the when start recording (disk starting up = high current) the Dreambox hangs (freeze) and I need to do a powercycle on the 230 volt.

I have read the latest models do have a improved PSU (known problem)
Do I have one of those new PSU's?
Serial number stars with 4A880117......

Are there any schematics avible on the DM7000?

Whats the differents on the new / old PSU?

I have read some people do add a small exstra 5/12 volt PSU in the chassis just for the HD...sounds like a good solution but can it realy be true the PSU in the DM7000 is to small?

My HD says 5v 670mA 12V 960mA

Which one are to week in the PSU 5 or 12 or both?

yes, the PS is too weak and no matter what hw revision is, if you fit a big disk like yours you will have trouble.

I have mounted an exstra PSU 5/12 volt for the HD and now it works perfect.

Still wonder if there are schematic for the DM7000S around somewhere?
