Hi,

perhaps an idea for a future release:

* select/deselect all satellites

for convinience.
--------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------
Nice, runs well. Perhaps suggestions :
- adding the possibity to select in only one selection all Astra1BCEFGH or all Hotbird 12346 and a sub-menu to select/deselect only specifics satellites,
- adding the possibility to alarm to CHMOD 755 before to save the new file or to keep it in memory to have time to chmod (otherwise obliged to relaunch autosat)
- adding a prompt EXIT at the end to avoid sucessives lame.
--------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------
I like it how you can select the satellite you want also would it be possible to ad a select all butter J hahahah

Big THX guys for this VERY usefull plug-in. I have another thinking point to You. What about splitting C-Band and Ku-Band on the beginning of selection?
Maybe it will be very usefull for us because mostly here (Slovakia) we don t have C-Band + Ku-Band together.

THX.

Instead of (in the satelite.xlm) satname posistion example :
sirius 5.0E the location first so that the sats are in the list by position so:

E05.0 sirius
E07.0 eutelsat
E28.2 Astra2
W01.0
W43.0

etc

I now do this manualy but if this can be done automatic it saves a lot of time, and you have all the sats on position alfabitised (sorry for my bad english)

Emailed suggestion from Rob:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What I would suggest is:

- read the previous satellites.xml file before you start
- use the selections made by the user only to decide which positions to
update from Lyngsat. keep all other data from the old satellites.xml file.
- use only the transponder data from Lyngsat. Keep the satellite name
(when it was already found in the previous file) as it was before.

With these changes the plugin would be much more useful. We could
select and download a single satellite (or a couple of satellites),
updating the satellites.xml file, without having to go trough a long
selection and long download and still run the risk that a satellite is
forgotten and disappears from the list.

I hope you will consider making this update...

Thanks for working on Dreambox software!
Rob

Thanks for the suggestion PSz, this one should be fairly easy to incorporate. We might add 2 checkboxes on the first screen (defaulted to C & Ku) where you can select your bands,

Would this satisfy your requirement?

I agree that the different satellites should be sorted after positions rather than names.
This would be helpful when you have a rotor with lots of
satellites.
Is it possible to do this manually, how?
