I have an XSAT CDTV-310 and it has a feature that I have not seen on other receivers.
There is a menu item that activates a plot (graph) of C/N ratio and signal strength as a function of time. You see a slowly moving cursor over a graph area, where the values are plotted twice every second or so (in different colors).
In that same screen it is possible to control the rotor settings (move left or right, store position).
This is *very* handy while pointing the dish and storing positions, as you can quickly work towards an optimal value without having to remember what previous peak values were. When you turn the rotor you see the graph climb, then fall back. At that time you turn a bit back to the level of the peak you just passed and the setting is optimal.
It is also useful to check what happens to the signal in a rainshower etc.
This receiver also displays the C/N ratio as a numeric value in tenths of a dB, instead of some opaque "percentage value" as many others (including Dreambox) do. This is much more useful, and it seems quite accurate in that the levels where you see bit errors and picture breakdown are right where the signal theory tells us they should be.
That would also be a useful addition. However, I don't know if it may be supported in XSAT's hardware and not in the Dreambox.
