Re: Enigma1 THE BIBLE

I want to remark some issues was have with ubuntu 5.1:
I'm ussing Ubuntu 5.1 under WinXP with vmware workstation 5 1gb ram 2.6ghz computer with scsi 12gb emulation hardisk for linux virtual machine with bridget network.

* must install "ncurses-dev" instead "ncurses-devel".

* unistall automake with "apt-get remove automake" and then install automake 1.9 with "apt-get install automake1.9".

* libpng-1.2.8.tar.b2z link seen broken, then must search for that file and put into "/dreambox/cdk/Archives" folder with "wget http://....." or other program. Waring: I found some libpng archives broken! must be 384.970 bytes length.
ok, we can now continue with "./prepare" script

hope help.

Re: Enigma1 THE BIBLE

I copied the lesson 1 .so file from your zip file into /var/tuxbox/plugins and rebooted my DM500. I selected Plugins from the Blue Panel but did not see anything. I then did chmod +x to give it execute privileges. Is there something else you have to do?

Also is there any debug output from the DM500 that would display error messages when trying to load plugins?

BTW: Thanks for producing a great guide for newbies.

Re: Enigma1 THE BIBLE

You also need to copy the .cfg file in /var/tuxbox/plugins
There's no need to reboot the box

Re: Enigma1 THE BIBLE

That a world record for the fastest reply. Thanks, I just tried it and it works! Do you know where/how the 3 "built in" plugs are stored? Just curious.

Also, can I use the CDK to write standard (stdio) C programs that can be invoked from the command line or via init script?

Again, thx

Re: Enigma1 THE BIBLE

They should be stored in /lib/tuxbox/plugins
You can use the cdk to compile or cross compile c/c++ programs that you wrote or found in the net
There's plenty of info around on how to setup the cdk but unfortunatly not enouph on how to use it

This is a great tutorial @Bacicciosat. You opened the gate of the secret garden.

Thank you.

Re: Enigma1 THE BIBLE

Dear Friends,

The plugins created using this tutorial:

Would they run on all dreambox models (ie 500, 5620) based on enigma images or
Runs only enigma based 70x0 images?

Thanks in advance.
