How to compile "c" progs for ppc?

I have writen some programs, c language, and I would like to compile them for my dreambox. How can I do it? Do I have to set up a cross compiler on my linux pc? or there is a simplier way to do it? (I tried to set up a cross compiler and I found it very dificult).
I have 2 dreambox, one dm500 and one dm7000.

You either set up a cross-compiler on your build system, or a native compiler on your target system.

the native compiler solution sounds easier!! where can I find it?

has anyone setted up succesfully a cross compiler? I ve tried some guides but no luck

The easiest way is to set up the Dreambox CDK environment in ur Linux pc. Just follow the instructions at the top of this forum topic. Then u have cross compilers,linkers, build scripts and everything u need
