Re: how to access DM throught internet

If you are on a static Ip then you can http connect to the Dreambox from a remote location. You need to use portforwarding for the connection through your router. Do a google search for port forwarding and then follow the instructions for your router model.

If you have a dynamic IP then you will need to open a dyndns.org account (its free). That converts your IP address to whatever dyndns address you open and so allows you access even though your IP address changes.

Re: how to access DM throught internet

Hi,

if you do so, be sure to change your dreambox password first. Otherwise you might wonder why channels change while watching (or even if you don't watch) TV .

Question Re: how to access DM throught internet

thanks for answer

- I use the feature port forwarding in router and it works for a static WAN IP
- I create a dyndns account and add a hostname for the WAN IP

the problem is now that the dyndns don't update the IP when my ISP changes IP... how can I do that ? is there a plugin necessary on DM ? which name ? or a special config in router ?

thanks for help

There are plugins for the dreambox to update the dyndns-account with the correct IP. There are also tools for PCs (which of course must be in the same network) to update dyndns with the correct IP.
But the best way is still to tell your router to update the IP on dyndns. There should be a possiblity to put the dyndns account details in your router.
