What kind of cable are you using: straight or crossed?
* when you connect the DB directly to your PC you normally use a crossed cable
* in case your network card in your PC supports auto-sense you can use either...
* with a hub, you use mostly straight cables

Hope it helps...

Your IP addresses look fine if you are using a dial up connection. If you are using a router you will need different IP addresses.
Have you checked the box to set up the LAN on your Dreambox Connections setup page?
Also check you have the correct cable as posted above
Which operating system are you using

Hi,

First, if there is a led on network card, check if it is on or off . If off, your cable is bad. You need a cross cable or a hub between dream and PC. But, for now, try it :

In Command Prompt XT : ping 192.168.0.5

If must see the 2 answer :
a) Reply from 192.168.0.5: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=255 (Your network is OK.)
b) Request timed out. (Your network is bad)

Hi,

After 2º timeout press CRTL C and use the command: arp -a
If this command returns 1 IP (MAC Address Your PC) the problem is probably the cable.
