DM7025s

After my last Poll and Everyones input here DMM have decided to release the 7025 next
Its planed to be Shipped with a single Satellite Tuner
How would you guys like it to be
"out of the box" (tuners will be available seperately regardless)

Supplied with 2 x Satellite Tuners ?
1 x Satellite , 1x cable Tuner ?
1 x Satellite ,1 x Terrestrial Tuner ?
With all 3 Tuners ,Satellite ,Terrestrial and Cable ?
Single Sattelite Tuner ?

Hi Astra-Boy,

in my opinion the best option would be without tuner by default, and then you can choose yourself which tuner-modules you purchase to fit your own needs.

So you could easily realize all of this 9 possible configurations:

1 x DVB-S
1 x DVB-T
1 x DVB-C
2 x DVB-S
2 x DVB-T
2 x DVB-C
DVB-S + DVB-T
DVB-S + DVB-C
DVB-T + DVB-C

It also would be easy to change one module, e.g. when you want to start with sat + cable and when you want to switch to sat + terrestric you can buy a DVB-T tuner and sell your DVB-C.

If it is not possible to trade it without any tuner, i think one single DVB-S would be the best "default"-option for most customers.

You have to understand a couple of things ,without any Tuner its no longer a set top box so this option is not available
The other point is ,if Tuners are "bundled" with the receiver this will be the cheapest option ( eg if a Tuner cost $35 each then 3 together as a package may only cost $35 for all 3 ,this is just an example) then you could also have the option of "swapping" Tuners with others too

@ Astra_Boy

under this point of view this configuration should be best and most cost effective for most customers:

- shipped by default with two satellite tuners, as a typical satellite-twin
- cable and terrestric as optional modules

So DMM has only to trade 3 products and the default configuration would fit what is most wanted.

Hi CommanderData
Although this maybe maybe the best option for you this may not be the best option for all of us - thats why i have the poll
For me 2 x Sat and 1 x Cable and 1 x Terrestrial would be best option (but thats for me ,again not everyone)
This is why i want everyones input and vote to determine the best "overall" option
We can then open a new subsection here on SI for "Tuner Swapping"

IMHO single sattelite tuner installed is the best option.
If we are talking about my area then some people will choose Terristrial
as second tuner while others will select Sattelite as second tuner.
And that choice should be optional.

PS: ... and I dont want to pay for cable tuner for sure.It is useless for me and others.

Hello,

I'm very interested to dual tuner receiver. My best choice could be 1 sat + DTT but could be very nice to have a second exchangeble tuner (from dtt to sat for example). I have already partecipated to the poll.
Anyway is there any forecast about its distribution on the market? Is it possible to install the second tuner on the 7020s?
Thanks

No Dual Tuner is really the weakness point of the DM today, so really, a dual tuner is the only thing that would make me change my DM7000 to a new one. (and of course HDTV with the 8000...)
