DM600S unable to flash

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help? over the past few days I have managed to flash 2 other DM600's without any problems, today I went to do a third new box, connected the null modem cable and the lan cable ran dreamup v1.3.2.0 as before, connect power when prompted, loader goes in ok, then Initiating http mode, after a short time message comes up -- Unable to ping the box using serial mode.

All cables are ok as I tried to reflash another box and all went ok..

Please help if possible..

Hi there, the version of dreamup is v1.3.2.0 and not as you have in your post, however I didn't try to ping before using dreamup, this box was purchased from the DMM main supplier in the UK, after a phone call to them I was asked to send it back..

We will have to wait and see what the result of this is..

The problem with this DM600 was hardware related, it was purchased from the main Dreambox distributor in the uk, they asked me to return it to them as they have had many boxes returned with the same fault, the boxes have now been sent back to Germany for replacment.

I'm just guessing here....Does the "Don't open Serial Port" in advanced settings cut off the connection to the RS232 Port ?

And is there any chance to make a hard reset from cold, if the box does not respond to anything?

A friend of mine just asked me to do something with his DM600PVR, and i'm not able to, hence it's not the first Box i'm fiddeling with, plz "make my day"

Hi there, the serial port setting in advanced settings has nothing to do with the problem, the so called main Dreambox dealer in the UK has told us so many untrue stories, I would not trust them again, we have bought 3 of these boxes from Germany and one from another dealer in the UK and all 4 of them re-flashed perfectly.

I can see on ParcelForce tracking system that the replacment is now on its way, I hope it re-flashes ok.... Watch this space...

Hello, it's with a tear in my eye, and a smile on my face, i must confess it's not my first problem with an almost dead Dreamer, but it's my first time on my new Striker Extreme Motherboard "with no seriel port connection" and i just plugged in an Multi I/O Card with two ports on, and since DreamUP could see the COM13 and COM14, i did'nt second guess it, just fumbling with the settings on the connection, hoping to find a hole, YAIKES!

Tryed an older DM7000, one of my own Boxes, guess what, it did'nt work!

Popped a Pespi, blow some smoke, WHAM! Then i came to me, i went in and forced the I/O Card to take over the old fasioned COM1 and COM2, rebooted my Vista, well, it's alive, and kicking.

Some evening, hehe, sometimes it's not obvious how simple life is This is my second post i the time i'm listed here, very smart, very, but i'm stunned over the quick responce, i appriciate that alot, and send my regards to you, have a good night.

dreamup 3.2.0 has a bug . 3.2.1 is oke
