Your biggest harddrive installed in a 7020?

I have a 250 GB Samsung today but want to make an upgrade.

Whats is the biggest installed drive that works with the 7020?
What is the maximum power the 7020 can produce for start current and continuous use?

I'm hoping for 500 GB or bigger if it can be done.

Re: Your biggest harddrive installed in a 7020?

max HDD can be 1.4TB limited by the kernel so anything available up to that size is fine!

Sounds promising!
What about the power consumption? Is there no one who has gone beyond the 250 Gb barrier?

Well, ask DMM since they recommend drives 300gb or smaller due to power consuption, but you are right, RPM should be more of a problem here, use a 5400rpm drive

Re: Your biggest harddrive installed in a 7020?

I was a bit unclear about the power consumption. It seems like you have to go for 7200 rpm if you want to go above 500 GB and that will draw more power.

Does anyone have any specs for how much power the 7020 can deliver?

Re: Your biggest harddrive installed in a 7020?

It will work, no problem, but the heat will go up and the box will be a bit noisy I think, no the 300gb was the spec for the 7020 model, I asked the same question when I bought mine

Anyway, Im sure it will work with a larder drive as long as there is no weird limitation in the kernel or something, buy a 750gb drive and try
