*Solution for the bad/poor network chip in the 7020 model*
I've heard of an guy in germany that hooked up the 7020 against a manageable Cisco switch and runned a "benchmark" on it with horrible result. Huge packet loss!
The new upcoming DM-models uses a Realtek network chip instead of this crappy one so this will be history soon...
But thats not what this "solution" is about...
Found this tip on a Swedish forum. Please confirm that I'm right or wrong!
- Turn off the 7020.
- Hold the downkey as you normaly do when you put the box in flashmode with the onboard boot-rom.
- Use TELNET to the box IP and violá, there are settings for the network card among other BIOS-lookalike-settings! Remove it from the auto setting and lock it in the 100Mbit FD-mode (full duplex) and give it a try.
If that don't do it, lock it in the 100Mbit HD-mode (half-duplex).
This should help alot or am I dreaming?
