Cannot connect using cifs

I can't seem to mount my Dreambox 7020 on my desktop using smb or cifs. I get an error message telling me it could not connect to the server because the name or password is not correct.
Using Mac OS X 10.3.7 to connect. The DM7000 mounts without a problem.

Do you create in your Windows the same user/password you tried in the Dream's config.?
Do you create a share and give to the specified user Full rights in this directory?

Do you have Windows XP on the machine which will host the "share" ??

Because if you use Windows Me/98 then you can get problems. Normally i just share d:\db and set up a new user on the machine with admin rights, username : db password : something short...
