Any HDD release for DM7000 will work with DM7020!
However.... because DM7020 has a much stronger PSU installed, it will work with latest HDD with 7200+ rpm

Can I use at same time an USB stick for images and HDD for video recording? That way HDD would be spinning only when I record/watch recordings.

If this works, is it better to install an USB stick and images first and only then to install the hard disk...or which is the right way to do this?

Thank you so much Hydra Team for the first 7020 image! *bows*

there must be a problem with the hard disk you used. i've already tested two disks on my dreambox with no problem. the first was a maxtor 80 Gb 7200 rpm and the second that i'm using now is from the same manufacturer, 120 Gb 7200 rpm. all is fine
