7000s -Hard-drive question

Dear DB buddies,
I have a DB7000s for over 17mos now but i never purchased a hard drive for it.
Now i would like to purchase one but i am told that new hardrives (i.e. 7200rpm, IDE100-IDE133) may not work properly with my old (nowadays) 7000s dream box.
Is this really the case? Can't i simply go into a pc hardware store and pick up a 120mb IDE133 drive and install it?
Can you recommend a caouple easy to find hard drives that will work on my db?

Please advise!
Thanks in advance!

Re: 7000s -Hard-drive question

Hi leshin,

If you a have DM7000s with amber display and serial number starting with 3xxx.... then a hard drive should work without problems.

Earlier versions of DM7000 needed a PSU upgrade, and a filter in the HDD power cable.

I think you may still need the filtered power cable which should have been supplied with the DM7000s.
