If your remote control stops working (or has never worked in the first place ) the problem may be with the Infrared receiver on the dreambox front panel. The failed component can be sourced from Farnell for less than £2. http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSear...=4913218&N=401

Alternatively you can send your dreambox off for repair at SMS (cost £90). If anyone else has this problem I'd be happy to advise.

A digital camers or webcam can be used to determine if the remote control is likely to be working. CCD cameras are sensitive to infrared and the remote control output can be seen as white flashes. (Test with a known good remote control first.)

Did somoene try to replace the IR intot the DB7000 ?
Because Im'thinking to changes it.

I have a DM7020 and the remote only works within about a meter. I have another DM7020 and the Remote Control works great with it so it is the box and not the remote.

I am going to change the IR receiver to see if that is the issue.
The DM7000 and 7020 are similar and I think the IR receiver should be the same.

Are you positive that the Part Number you gave is correct? 36 kHz?
