Back to warranty with an unofficial image ?

Hello,

My DB is now completely dead (doesn't switch ON anymore -electrical problem, not boot one-).
I'll return it back to the manufacturer so it repair it. But there's not an official image in my DB ; a Gemini one is installed.
I read for new 7020, the warranty is void if we change the image (that's why, people having one are installing a boot menu... to keep the original one). Is that the same thinkg with a 5620 ?

Thanks for answers.

Re: Back to warranty with an unofficial image ?

Hi,

just to clear some point that may help you ...

dreambox 5620 doesn't come with manufacture warranty (and i think all dreambox models) since is not mentioned on the official site , user manual or printed on the box that the receiver come in with (as far i know).

but some dealers give you warranty for dreambox that you buy from them only. so check with your dealer rules.

but normally warranty is void if you install not official software (or beta ) or if you try to repair or modified the device.

Re : Back to warranty with an unofficial image ?

Thatz true... nothing is written about warranty !
But I heard there's a 2 years warranty...

I phoned the dealer were I bought it... he confirmed it to me : a 2 years warranty and apparently, Dream Multimedia is refunding the shipping fees.
If the problem is due to the installation of an unofficial image : the reparation will cost 60€ ; if not,, if thatz a "normal" problem, thatz free.

I said "if I understood well" cause my dealer is german and I dont speak a german word ! lol. But we talked in english... but I think I correctly got what he said me.
