Dm56XX Signal Problems

Hi
I have seen in many forums that some DM56XX suffer from weak signal and ber.
I had the same problem with 1 DM5620.
I have try everything but some channels were ok and some not. Change every imgae but nothing.
Then i open the decoder and saw that 2 capasitors on the motherboard were oversized. Change them and verything its ok now.
So if you have the same problem visit an expert and tell hime to check the 2 big capasitors on the motherboard.

thanks

Re: Dm56XX Signal Problems

Could you give us a clue as to which capaitors you are referring to, and also the values of the new ones please?

Re: Dm56XX Signal Problems

I also have some problems with the signal strength so I may take a look at those capacitances. But I could appreciate the values - how many mikroF should be used. Or just to replace the existing ones with the same values? This is not clear from your posts.
Thanks

Hi sashonk,

I'd like to ask you if your receiver could lock the low symbolrate (below 5000ksym/s) channels too after the capacitor replacement? I have a big problem with these SCPC channels. Would you also tell me whether you just simply changed those capacitors or the new ones had other parameters (capacity and voltage)?

Thanks in advance
