Angry 5620 wrong flash, DB won'y boot, soft for JTAG needed

Hello,

I have here a 5620 but latest flash done was released with a HYDRA for DM7000 !!! Sure not working, last message on console is Now Booting The Kernel and DB hangt.

Trying to send a file in kermit mode to boot from serial did'nt work, no uncompressed file in my librairies and i'm using W2K.

Forget anything about DreamUp or DreamUpLan because the DB never establish the connection with the software.

Last solution is the JTAG. I have a CAS interface USB but the software available from duolabs is for DM7000 only. Does somedy know of there is a software for USB CAS2 interface working for the DB5620, i need to erase the flash in ordee to be able to flash a correct image into the DB.

Thanks for help.

There is 5620 bootloader firmware available. I enclose it in case you have no access to the german board where this is from(the dreambox beginner forum).
Having said that I do not know how to connect the 5620 box to the CAS2 (addon).
Before you try the jtag, I would try to upload new software to the box via dreamup5620, that usually works. You may have to try a few times and make sure you switch of the lan option, but that always worked for me even when I buggered the box with bad beta software.
Tell us how you get on.
Best regards

I thought so. Sometimes this is not working, you just have to keep trying. RS232 connections are a bit tricky.

@sashonk

If you have not solved it yet:
Connect the cable, Run dreamup5620, switch of lan option, click connect. Then switch on the db and a blue bar should indicate that you are connected and it should also say something like connecetd in the main window. Then just look at the RHS buttons, click erase(not essential) and then click update.
You will be asked for a file and you can start the upload. I am writing this out of memory, so I hope I did not forget anything.

Best
