Re: DM500+ dead?

Have you tried reflashing it with the correct image? Use a serial null-modem cable and 'dreamup'
Good luck.

Ollie

Re: DM500+ dead?

Hi
Try frash erase and 500 through null modem cable (make sure its proper null modem cable) using dreamup.
does this recognise it as a DM500 then "ok" or just does nothing? dont turn power on in 500 until prompted to do so remember.
If this doesn't work then perhaps it can be JTAG'd for this you would need to contact your official Dreambox supplier (that is if it isnt a clone) I know the main guy in UK is very good with this but he has been out of stock of 500 since the 600 came on scene so it probably did not come from him.
Hope this is some help, good luck

Wink Re: DM500+ dead?

Image uploaded. Serial cable on laptop was not working properly. Thanks guys.
BTW, no other way to upload an image using programs like flashwizard? Find serial method a bit out-of-date. Tried Dreamup on my Lan says "no ping". In fact there is no ping from laptop neither when DM500+ is hooked with serial and switched after Dreamup but easy tcp/ip on normal start up. Cheers

Re: DM500+ dead?

You can upload an image more fast if you use both cables in dreamup. serial and rj45
That's what I us to do...

Yesterday my dream didn't boot up, seems like dead... the green light is on, but on the TV there is only a black screen/ no signal... after some time green light goes OFF!
I didn't try to flash erase yet cause I wanna see if I can recover one file that I have no recent backup :o

any ideas?

I'm getting the dm500 to an electronics technician to have a look at it...
