Exclamation Dreambox 500s (Major) problem

Hi,

ive been watching this forum for a while ever since i got a dreambox (about 1 week ago). Back then i thought everything was oversimplified so i wasnt paying much attention, however..

Up until my dreambox worked i had Gemini 2.20 installed on it (installed it through flashwizard pro 5.0). Everything was working fine until today (because i was an idiot) i thought of installing the latest version of Hydra (just to be exact i used hydra500_phoenix_108_final.img). I tried installing it with flashwizard again and everything seemed fine on the PC part. Then i thought of rebooting the dreambox for the new firmware to take effect, so i rebooted through the OSD menu. After the reboot, the screen was black(naturally) and as the dreambox powered up again it became a more bright version of black (i hope you know what i mean by this). After a few seconds later, the screen was flashing between the darker version of black and the lighter one. Then was when my problems begun.

I thought i had flashed it badly, so i thought of using dreamup. I loaded dreamup and did a flash with the erase image (erase.img). Then i disconnected the dreambox from the mains and waited for 3 minutes ( i dont know why but everyone recommends it). After this, i connected it through dreamup again adn flashed the Hydra image again, thinking that would solve the problem. This time when i connected it to the TV only the brighter version of black would appear but nothing else.

Then i read somewhere that i should flash it with the erase.img and then use the manufacturers firmware and then it should work as new. So i did that (with 3 minutes off-mains intervals and everything related). After a couple unsuccessful tries, i read somewhere how i could get a dump of the bootup process of the dreambox, so i did that, and saw that the dreambox was constantly rebooting.

the dump is:

Code:
Linux/PPC load: console=null root=/dev/mtdblock5 rootfstype=squashfs ro console=

The box was earthed during flashing.. I had another "semi-successful" hydra installation, whereupon checking the log it seemed hydra tried finding an LCD screen and failing, among other random things, then rebooting (thus the flashing of the TV), which leads me to believe that the firmware i have are suspicious. ill check back on it and give you an update in a few minutes.

Using 2445_hydra500_phoenix_109.img i get the following load dump (attached) which ends with:

Code:
/dev/dvb/card0/frontend0: No such file or directory
Segmentation fault
enigma returned with 139
Restart

Does anyone have the error code list of enigma i could check what the error is about myself? Or any suggestions?

I will go back to trying the original firmware and see if i can come up with something..

Just reflashed using Gemini 2.20. Works fine...

which makes me wonder... could the dreambox i have be the new version with the Alps TVTuner? (i have the 56xx remote but the old box). If so, which firmware support the new 500s?

At least im partially relieved..

If it is with 56xx remote, 100% you have the new Alps tuner Box. Only Gemini 2.20 and original image will work. yet!

Have you actually made the ST Team image work on a DB500 or did I get you wrong?
