How can I retrieve a lost root password?

yeah maybe you're right, but i just wan't to try something before, can someone just tell me how the file ''passwrd'' look like. the lines that are in it. the file is located in var/etc/passwrd. I think that if i can edit with the right line, i will be able to reset password. thanks

Most easy way!

If you dont care to loose your setting or if you have a full backup of your config files

the solution is...... Factory default under expert settings menu.

So easy!!
