How do I flash erase a DB500?
I've just uploaded the latest hydra image tro a DB500, but I can't access the control pannel. (I guess it was because I didn't flash erase...)
I uploaded it via ftp, and then with the user interface on the tv.
(dreamUp doesn't seem to work... I've set the IP's but it always crashes when I press connect !!!)

So: How do I flash erase a DB500?

only way i know of to flash erase a 500 is with dreamup. however, uncheck the "use network" box and do it via null modem cable.

menu => setup => expert setup => factory reset => reboot

btw, I've figured out why DreamUp crashed... IT'S A BUG!
I was using my laptop, which doesn't have a serial port.. but has ethernet...
When I plugged in a USB-to-serial adapter, then a COM port showed up in DreamUp, and it nologer crashed when I did connect....
However... It also dodn't do anything else... It just stood there saying "power up your DB now..."!!!

Yes this is all true and can cause really nasty situations... I destroyed my DB500's bootloader that way...
