Confused

What is the difference between a dm500 and a 7000s? Do they support nagra 2?

Simply they are different models of the Dream Box, they require different software (images) ie 7000 images for the 7000 and 500 images for the 500

At the moment nagra2 is visible only with original cards.
Yes dreambox support that system. (Original premiere card which is in nagra2 works fine in DB).

The dm5600 and dm500 have a cheaper version of the microcontroller, having 1 demuxer instead of three for the dm7000. This makes recording very difficult. If you want to do any recording, go for the dm7000, even if you're not going to attach a harddisk directly.

no dreambox no support nagra2 cards. only support nagra2 cards via betacrypt cam soft to nagra2.

for example, D+ use pure nagra 2 . and premiere use aladdin system nagra2 via betacrypt.

Yes, but the tuner in the DM500 is a lot better than the DM7000... so I would wait for the DM7020 or get the DM500 today...

Get the dm500 today and regret it tomorrow because you cannot record.

On paper the dm500 indeed has a better tuner, but I haven't been able to see _any_ difference in SNR. If you do see difference, I suspect your dish or lnb's aren't positioned optimally.

The dm7020 will take another few months to be available, I assume. Please note you cannot run dm7000 images on a dm7020, so expect immature images for it (bugs, less functionality). So imho it's still safest to buy a dm7000.

I guess the tuner only makes a difference with some weak transponders... it has been confirmed by several people. With the SF image and DM500S you can actually record without problems using NGrab.

If you need a harddrive today the only choice is DM7000, agree.
