Question blocky errors in some dutch channels with DB500, s/n 84%, don't get it anymore

Hi,

since two weeks I'm getting nothing but blocky errors in the image of the three dutch tv channels (ned1-3). It looks like the signal quality is so poor it doesn't generate a normal video signal. The strange thing is this: I work with three twin lnb's, the other ones are connected to a dreambox 7000 which is working perfectly, also, s/n ratio on the DB 500 is 84% on these channels and all the other channels are working in a normal fashion (even from the same provider, same sat). Changing image to the new hydra, switching cables, putting /var on nfs mount and even loading the new hydra config menu didn't help a bit.

anyone has a clue what can cause this ?

regards,

Tom

Looks clear to me, bad cables and or connectors. Switch the dreamboxes to check that.

Also note that the Ned1-3 channels are on a different transponder (iirc even on a different satellite) than the commercial ones, and the reception is weaker (79% against 84% over here).

tnx for replying, I'll switch the two boxes tonight, I did already switch the cables in order to check reception, since one DISECQ switch is better than the other one. THe dreambox 7000 downstairs works perfectly with the 'lesser' switch which gives 79-80% at NLD1-3. The commercial ones have 86% at the moment (both are on astra 19.2, transponder might indeed differ).

tried it, and you're right, tnx!

since _all_ other channels were okay except for these three and s/n ratio was good as well I thought it couldn't be the cable, but it was (bad shielding in the cable from dreambox to wall outlet).
