DM500 motor problems

My DM500 has been configured to use same settings as my DM7000.
But it seems like the DM500 cant move the motor.
I have eg. 13E as 1 in motor setting, 19.2E as 2, 5E as 6 in settings, and finaly 1W as 8 in motor.
With these settings I have no problems when I use my DM7000.
But with my new DM500 it wont move correctly.
Isent DM500 supposed to be able to run with a motor by using Diseq 1.2 ?

Any hint would be appricieted highly

The DM500 does not drive line powered motors connected to the F-Connector. I think its mentioned in the manual somewhere.
The power pack on the DM500 is 12V and motors are usually 18V

Thanks m8.
The manual is often the last place I would look.
I will now put this DM500 on sale :-(

@Michelangelo
Sorry but diseqc motor is work 100% with 12 volt power pack.
With your theory also LNB switch dont work cause for some frequences and polarisations we need 18v to sent on LNB. Also 12 volts input can give us 220 v output if we need it

gregg the point is its not recommended to use a 500 on a coax driven motor...the little power pak runs hard enuf as it is...why overstress it uneccesarily

Its not the VOLTS .. its the AMPS that count on the Motor.

Hi,

Try to use mA and not degree by second, sometime it can help to use power than degree/second.

Could you explain then why in the manual is explained how to configure with the original sw the motor set-up ? ( page 121 par. 60 ). Also in the original sw there's an option to use "many satellites via DISEqU Rotor".

The Dm500 will NOT drive a Diseqc motor / rotor / positioner / whatever you like to call the DiseqC spinning thing that drives your dish. Why? Because it does not have enough power in the electrical department.

You can say what you like and quote the manual until the cows come home.... TRY IT! Rig up a Diseqc motor to your Dm500, then after it finally sinks in that it's not going to move no matter what you do, move on and work around it.

I will repeat this for the umpteenth time, the only way to get a DM500 to move a dish is using a V-BOX2 and a 36V actuator due to the fact that the V-BOX2 supplies the power requirements the actuator needs.
The DM500 quite simply cannot cope with the power requirements.

Regards,
Psi
