Tuner sensitivity

Are there any DM500 users here who also have a DM7000, and can compare the SNR and particularly AGC values between the two?

My DM500, on Astra 1 transponder 12.344(RTL4, etc, Canal Digitaal) GHz shows SNR 85%, AGC 80%. The AGC value seems unusually high, I have a 90 cm dish pointing to Astra (I live in the Netherlands), and my DM7000 shows the same SNR but only about 55% AGC. Is the tuner less sensitive or is it just not measuring the AGC value right?

If I am not wrong , the best value of AGC is 50% . It it is bigger or smaller - the signal is poorer.

I would have thought that SNR was the important figure to be comparing here? I can't see how AGC is relevant?

Tudo

Use a better cable from your dish too the receiver.
The tuner in the receiver is too sensitive

There is a little device available to "calibrate" sensitivity on input side; it's called "satslope" and goes between receiver and LNB in the cable

He has tolled me by phone that he is using Coax 12, a cable what they are using back in the time whit analog signals. The tuner wil be get overstressed by some higher signals when you use this type off cable.

It is a DVB-s receiver not a analog-model.

Greats
