DBB2 v2.0 Alcatraz for DM70X0

Following shots better explain the new features of this release...

Read carefully before install: DBB2 Alcatraz is installed by default in secure mode, that is no root user, no ftp, no telnet and Web-if available only via https, but with SSh and sftp services active. Our suggestion is to use software supporting these encrypted protocols, at least if you're going to connect your Dreambox to the net for any use. But, if you're not willing to change your habits, remind to activate both ftp and telnet services in the "DBB2 Demons Control Module" and activate root user in the "DBB2 Secure Panel".
Following programs support encrypted connections:

• Filezilla as a sftp-client;
• Putty as ssh-capable client;
• jIM2 v1.0.3 as the ONLY image manager available at the moment which support encrypted connections with the box

Remember that you can log into your box even with root disabled: two new users have been created with different privileges, dreamadm and dreamuser (passwd for both is dreambox). And you can run under dreamadm programs with higher privileges using sudo (including, of course, changin passwords).

It is embedded, you don't need any supplementary files. I tried it right now and the server is up

btw, my ISP is using proxy

in other images , I used to put the following export in rcs at /etc/init.d/

export http_proxy=http://proxy.myisp.net:80

but in DBB image, I get confused because there are many rcs & I don't know whrer to add my export line

@NextWave:
1. If the image is installed in multiboot, then you have to insert your string at the bottom of /etc/init.d/rcS_globals;
2. If it is in flash, insert the string at the beginning of /var/etc/start_enigma

@dominic61: no, the official version is in a .tar.gz archive, but it is very easy to convert it to .tar.bz2
