Better use both and try resolve IP address when connected via COM port

Default installed image is Dream Multimedia release 1.05_4

A Nullmodem cable is indeed a serial Laplink cable (or also called serial x-over cable)

Yea... I had problems with 2 so called null modem cables, 1 of which I bought from Dicky Smith (what a waste). Finally got it to work with the following configuration which I built myself....

Pin 1 - Not Connected
Pin 2 - Goes to Pin 3 on the other end
Pin 3 - Goes to Pin 2
Pin 4 - Goes to Pin 6
Pin 5 - Goes to Pin 5
Pin 6 - Goes to Pin 4
Pin 7 - Goes to Pin 8
Pin 8 - Goes to Pin 7
Pin 9 - Not Connected

Easy enough to make up yourself.... better than wasting 20 bucks from dicky...

Persistance pays off.........!!!

Thanx to your advice, I was able to flash the new Traveller image to my box. Now comes the fun part. Scanning for Transponders.

BTW, I did it with the Null Modem on the com of my PC. Took a little while to flash, but it happened. Also, Very Very important to make sure the Flash Erase works correctly, else only some of Traveller works. It goes a treat now, except for Transponder scan, but that is another matter.

Thanx for your partience and assistance Mr B & Xphile

Hi All,

I have uploaded the travellers 20030622, Flashed and have edited LNA to 11300 on all?
Edited a sat with all the freq and rates for C1 off satellites.xml for C1 and checked the EM?? changed to one off this fourm and I cannot make the LNB to switch to Vertical or decode my sub card or golde?

It will work on the Shopping channel.

I have not got my network interface to work yet so am using RS232 only.

Can I upload satellites.xml via Rs232? if so now.

Any help please as it has been 2 days to get this far.

asnbarry.

asnbarry,

If you installed traveller you should enter your sub / goldie details into gbox. Follow the instructions in the gbox 101 tutorial on www.dreambox.net.au

This should give you a good starting point for configuring the emu

Not just yet m8, work is being done as we speak. For now you will have to use one of the emu's and enter your details.

Can you put any light on what LMB frequencys I need to install?

And why I can not make it change to Vertical? has it something to do with the freqs?

I used 11300 on all three for my LNB. Dunno why you aren't able to change the polarity as it was simple to do when I was setting up mine.

I posted a thread with issues re LNB frequencies and other stuff at http://sat-industry.net/forums/showt...threadid=4016, though there's nothing new there that you haven't been told here.

hi all

unfortunately i've experienced the same problem as "JoeBlow251" did.
The problem is after downloading an image (Corrupted probabely)using dream up through a null modem, now only dream multimedia comes up on the amber screen and nothing else happens afterward.
for your information i can upload images to the box with no errors but the box doesn't show anything except dream multimedia on it's screen.
I have tried flash erase for sevral time and still no success.
what do you think the problem may be and how it may be solved?
I hope it doesn't need JTAG.

Best Regards and thank for your concern
