Diseqc switch & Diseqc motor control

hi,

i have a motoized dish with two LNB and another fixed dish.

currently i use echostar 3000 to move the dish but i want to use a controller like the V-BOX to have the dreambox do it.

is it possible? how?

Depends on the dish/motor you have. If your talking about a moteck H-H mount then your dream can control it. If however you have an actuator of some sort for a larger dish then yes you will need some sort of V-Box or similar controller to send power to the unit, but they can be hooked up with the dreambox. Do a search and you will find lots of posts from those who have just that setup working.

I have a vbox controlling my 1.2m dish about 80m out the back. Works very well independently of db. Vbox moves the dish very quickly, better than the slower diseqc set up I had before.

you missed the point of my question - i know the V-BOX can move the dish, but can i have a setup of both disecq controller and disecq switch?

You're right I have missed the point of your question! Why do you want to use both on the same setup? Maybe you're saying you just want the db to move the dish, not really needing vbox?

how would the db move the actuator? it does not have 36v outputs.

i need to move the dish using the v-box with disecq 1.2 commands and to select the LNB using the disecq 1.0 switch.

is this possible?

This is the blurb about the vbox
Superjack VBOX 2 diseqc 1.2 positioner This positioner will interface with any Digital receiver with diseqc 1.2 to allow it to move any 36 volt motorised equipment (actuator arm or 36volt H-H mount). Idea if you want to replace your existing receiver with a new digital unit but don't want to have to swop your motorised dish setup. Remote control, 99 programmable memories, easy operation and quick installation.
It's a 3 in 1 standalone positioner, diseqc 1 positioner and dieseqc 1.2 positioner.
Perhaps this answers your question, but if not do a search on google and check the spec on the vbox and your exact requirements.

I tried this kind of setup (well, I had a Diseqc 1.2 motor, but should be the same) with Spaun uncommitted switch, but the results were quite bad. I managed to switch from the motorized dish to the fixed one, but always when I switched from the fixed dish to motorized, DB crashed. I tried different settings, but I couldn't make it work. I haven't tried with the latest images, but I assume that the result will be the same since I haven't seen any note about fixed diseqc config. It also may be so that the problem is not in the image, it can also be in the user... So help needed here too.
