Nothing bad

As the subject line said I have no bad comments about the site, I think it is a nice and friendly site to be a member of, and I can find most if not all of my questions that have answered by someone else posting the same question or one that will get me the same answer.

But that's not what I'm asking, is there a chatroom this site has? and or are you be going to start one up for members who would like to get to know his/her fellow members? Just a thought.

Also I read that the site is having trouble with a bandwidth issue. Have you thought about seeing if some of the members would donate some money so you can get the bandwidth problem under control and to aid the further development of this wonderfull site.

I would like to this site get as big as another site we all know about.

I hope I've come up with some good questions for the Admin and the Mods to consider.

The bandwidth problem is being looked at and I'll let the admin reply on behalf of that.

With regards to the chatroom. We had one up and running before, however, was not supported.

We then held a survey as to when the chatroom should be open or if it should actually ever be closed. There was very little response to the survey.

What can be assumed from that? Wasnt a popular idea

Thanks for the input frecklesnoot. Feedback, good or bad, keeps us informed of what the members do or don't like and want - it is all welcome (within reason of course).

Actually the issue is not one of bandwidth (data transfer), we pay enough to cover that and more.
The problem just of late has been one of server resources - when the site is busy with many active users on at one time, and with all the bells and whistles running, it overloads the server and slows everything down.
We are in the process of moving the site to a dedicated server which should cover us for some time to come - with a bit of luck it will be up and running this week.
The cost of running the site is covered by the advertising banners and we don't anticipate there will be a need to ask the members to contribute. But thanks for asking.
In the past most of the sat chatrooms have been based on the freebie offerings, remotely hosted with user limits and pop-up ads (something you will NOT see at SI) - with this new server on the go, and if the members do want one, we can certainly investigate hosting our own (not IRC).

And i cover most of the costs which i am happy to do................with the banners paying for the little extras...which trust me do help out...i was just saying to siadmin the other day we would be rich if we even got paid one dollar for every hour we have spent here getting the site where it is today..............
once we are on our dedicated server you watch the site grow
we hope to be the biggest around real soon..................and the way things are going, that wont be long....

Thank you for your replys, and I understand what your saying. I am proud to be a member of this great site and if I can think of anything which could make this site even better I'll let you know and I hope that other members can help with ideas.
