Re: Gone to the dogs

This is why the forum dropped IMO Resharing

Hermertje, if topics cant be discussed here then no-one bothers posting. I do realize there are rules but these rules being enforced constantly are killing the board, I think there needs to be a little relaxing every now and then. It's good to moderate and dont get me wrong but this place is a ghost town compared to what it was.

I agree with Tagg, this place used to have the most update info...but now it's seems like the official discussion forum for PLI only as all the others have left. But hey I still come here in the hope this place has something new and interesting and to help others where I can.

Ash

Re: Gone to the dogs

dont shoot the messenger as we, people who runs the forum and our users, dont want the forum closed due to illegal activities

this ghost town was due to the lack of having the forum updates so spam took over

PLi has his own forum as you know
but we are still willing to give our support on other places as welll

and a BIG thx Ash for still helping others out
thats what we are here for

[quote]the admin and mods are lazy as hell.[/QUOTE

as an admin for another site, I don't think people are aware of the time and effort put in by admin/mods (free of charge)
Software can reduce some of the crap posted, which makes the job easier, but it's amost impossible to stop it dead

yes you can ban a spammer, but they just re-register with a different nick

Re: Gone to the dogs

Its All Part of Quality Control really.

You have people willing to put time in to moderate. if they cant be bothered then they are confirming to its members its gone to the dogs.

BUT

A forum is only as good as people are willing to put in. so people for reasons UNKNOWN decided not to put in. these things are normally because of behind the scenes crap. so in my opinion something happened behind the scenes, causing main input people to stop inputting & go elsewhere, goes to show without the say 50 main posters a forum can go from being One of the Best to....

a Ghost Town where people start posting SPAM.

Basically Over moderating happens everywhere BUT in some cases it has to happen to create a hassle free environment.

There have been many boards started over the years and i guess people go where they are most relaxed.

There is a very fine line between over moderation and under moderation and to get the formula spot on is extremely difficult.

I believe a good forum is one where its members are respectful toward one another, taboo subjects are treaded on with care and members care more about helping than getting a higher post count.

We all made our mistakes and we all do, its about owning up to them and moving forward that matters more than dwelling on the past.

Re: Gone to the dogs

Hi all

I last visited this forum in 2005 but somehow I forgot about you! (sorry).
I received a Happy New Year email with link to the forum and here I am.
I can't comment on the past but I like what I see!
Keep it up, I will visit regularly and try to help where I can.

Happy New Year and hopefully a Happy New Forum.
