the fact in such cases is that if your IT skills are sufficient you will fix it eventually (provided that you can avoid frustration and don't slam it again the wall, in which case is beyond 'repair').
People that won't be proficent enough to fix it should return it or consult
someone from the above category.
The fact is that things could be easier...
5620 does have a strange behaviour.
I have been twice down the road that the mate describes and all you have to do is keep trying with different COM ports PCs even versions of flashing software. It isn't broken and it doesn't require hardware 'treatment'
P.S. the file that it expects is the linux kernel or something like that
Don't bother uploading an image (even the original) that way. it's useless
Generally these options in the bootloader are for developers.
In bootloader you should just make sure that boot device is 'Flash' and
auto boot in 'On' nothing usefull there
