Honey i've killed the sub!
help please
Having done a reasonal bit of research, i was taking the first step when everything went pearshaped.
I originally had the wrong prog'er so i decided to build myself the jaycar% unit. I put it together and fired it up with a 12v pac (the specs said a 9-12v would be ok), we had the green light working happily so it time for a test. But the only card i had was the sub so in she goes (1st err). started up fm4 on win98 laptop and went connect. FM started to work, but did not extract anything, just the hr glass, for a minute or so, so i killed FM in windows. Took out the card, put it back into the stb and holy sh*t. All channels scrambled.
Next day went and got a new goldie, tried to read it with fm, got some script this time but again she stalled.
then got myset a new 9v 150ma pac.(replaying the 12v) This appeared to allow the unit to read using Ausgold(win98) ,IRD2Calc-v125(XP & 98), CardHunter(98) & CB93(xp & 98)
Now this is all the data i have now when reading the damaged sub from
IRD2Calc:
Card Version IRDETO ACS v1.8
Ascii serial no A0000000003
Hex serial no. 00 00 00
no provider nos etc
Ausgold(win98):
ATR (Ascii) IRDETO ACS v1.8'
CoCo1 & 2 both blank
Priv IDs all blank
PMK 00 -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
PMK 10 -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
this is not good i know. I believe that the voltage diff may have nuked it.
Let this be a warning to new players. If you build anything make sure u test it completely (using DMM) and get the power supply right, or better still buy a ready made unit, but never ever initally test with your sub card.
I was hoping for any ideas
or some excuses to sweet talk f@*t*l, such as eg "my son borrowed it and tried to copy it for one of his one mates.
any help much appreciated (eventhough she's a 1.8 card)
