You can try HYPERTERMINAL (part of Windows).
Use 112.000 baud and turn on your Dreambox.
You should see DREAMBOX. If so, restart the Dreambox, but press the RETURN-Key (keep it pressed). You wil enter a boot-menue.
If that is OK, reboot your PC and just start DreamUp. It should work.
If you don't see anything using Hyperterminal, you destroyed your bootloader.
In this case, either send your Dreambox for repair, or use a CAS-II Interface to restore it. As the DM-500 does not have the pins for JTAG on board, you need a pinhead-connector, so it is not very recommended.
