In case of db7000:
I tried to copy those 2 files in /lib folder, but I didn't have enaugh rights,
so I tried to chmod them, but again not allowed.
I thought we were not supposed to touch files other than in the /var and its subfolders, can anybody confirm this?

I assumed you meant /var/scce
And about the binary file newcamd itself:
In the Archive, there is the newcamd.ppc file, do we have to compile, deploy, whatever ... it??
Based on this, I guess we can end up with some kind of step by step tutorial
